[Ever since New Years, he's taken to trying to stay indoors when he can, venturing out only when necessary. Since the arrival of a certain short blond alchemist's parents, he's been trying to keep an even lower profile... because it's cold outside, and automail is metal, and getting punched by a cold metal fist is not high on his list of priorities.

After all, what if it was like getting your tongue stuck to an ice cube? What if he wound up stuck to Edward's arm? And of course, this opens up a whole new can of worms that he doesn't even want to think about because he isn't the one with the metal limbs...

But even more pressing is the fact that he's noticed something here and there on the floor of his apartment: feathers. His feathers. Not a lot, but definitely not just one or two. This means the question must be asked, and so he turns to the journal and its video function.]

I suppose? I'm not used to domestic life, so this is a bit of a change. I do like the lack of paperwork, though.

They really are. It's a lot to take in at once, even if it's only little things. The lack of a monetary unit, the lack of anything familiar, the ocean being so close...

I'm a Colonel and State Alchemist in my country's military, though it usually means I sit behind a desk and process paperwork while everyone else gets to be out on the field.

[Alchemist. That sounds kind of familiar. Hmm...]

You live far from the ocean? That's so terrible! I can't even imagine what that's like. I mean... even this is far away...

Amestris is land-locked, with a desert on one side and other larger countries along the rest of its borders, so I've... never actually seen it before.

I take it you like the water?

I've seen it in books? It's probably not quite the same as seeing it in person, though.

How different is seeing it in the winter as opposed to summer?

Well... it's chilly, but the water is too deep to freeze, so the sight is more or less the same.

[She giggles.] Unless you wanted to take a dip~.

I've never really tried outside a pool where the bottom was visible... and even then, it's not exactly something done often. I probably wouldn't remember how.
