Sputtering, coughing, sore, and forcing himself to wade through the water to the shoreline, he’s more than a little confused at finding that not only is he devoid of injuries, he’s also been stripped of his uniform, but at least someone was kind enough to leave an open journal lying along the river?

Alright, I was shoved through their little portal into... what looks like the middle of some town that is definitely not any place I've ever seen. Now the question is, how do I get back? And what happened to my uniform?

Well, it was in the middle of a river. From the looks of it, it's at a juncture where either two merge or one splits.

Alright. How does one go about leaving?

You're already in the village actually! You should be able to see a house nearby. If you walk around the house, you'll come across the main pathway. If you head back in the direction of the river after that, you'll see a bridge. Cross that and you'll come across a house with a fairly big garden nearby. I'll be sitting out on the porch with a towel for you.

[Oh yeah... FullMetal was taken before all of that happened, so of course he wouldn't know. Now to put this as bluntly as possible. Details could come later.]

Human transmutation, though not done of my own choosing, I assure you. I'm not an idiot.

Then I suppose I'll have to find a way to fix that. I have things that need to be taken care of back home and people who are relying on me that I have to get back to.

Right now, I'm soaking wet, sore, en route to some girl's house who offered a towel, and do you have any idea how very much not fun it is to wander around in wet pants when said pants are white? And to top it off, I'm talking to a book. If I didn't know better, I would think I've managed to go from sanity to senility in a matter of seconds.

A little water-logged and sore, but still breathing, so I suppose I'm faring rather well. I thank you for your concern.

Is it that there genuinely isn't a way out or that nobody has found a way as of yet? And if there isn't, then what is it that keeps people from leaving and why?
