[It’s the sudden rush of cold and wet that greet Roy Mustang upon arrival, being dropped rather unceremoniously into the junction of rivers. Sputtering, coughing, sore, and forcing himself to wade through the water to the shoreline, he’s more than a little confused at finding that not only is he devoid of injuries, he’s also been stripped of his uniform, but at least someone was kind enough to leave an open journal lying along the river?
It's like a bad consolation prize: we stole your stuff, so have a journal in which to write about it!
That doesn't stop him from shooting a glare toward the sky he just dropped out of, though.]
Okay, I get it! "Useless when wet". Was that really necessary?
[Shedding water everywhere, he takes a moment to look around, attempting to get his bearings.]
Alright, I was shoved through their little portal into... what looks like the middle of some town that is definitely not any place I've ever seen. Now the question is, how do I get back? And what happened to my uniform?

[Amelia snickers a bit at the idea of a revolt. It's not because she wouldn't mind it; she just knows better.] It wouldn't work. Not against the Malnosso. Unless you're used to fighting people who can change your entire body or your personality like it's nothing.

[Sigh.] ...I don't think I'm liking the sound of this.

There's not much to like. Those things I just mentioned get done to us on a regular basis by the Malnosso, for "experiments." There's no way to stop it or predict it either. It just happens.

From the sound of it, there isn't anything to like.
[Switching gears here...]
What can you tell me about things such as the monetary system and employment? [Because he's going to need to know as much as he can as quickly as he can.]

[It's a logical jump. But Amelia's got the feeling that Roy's going to react close to the same way she did when he hears the answer.]
None. There's no money here. Some people have jobs, but they aren't paid or anything. Most do it just because they want to help out.

[A little disconcerting, but still fitting. After all, why go through the trouble of containing so many if they were able to run themselves into poverty and suffer? Lab rats were meant to be cared for so they could be healthy for any sort of tests, right?]
